About
this work

Here, I tried to lean in towards my horror-loving side. I brought this piece together by taking inspiration from Gothic church entrances and horror creatures. During the making of this project, I was very lost and just let my intuition lead me towards what felt right. Because of the dark gothic look, adding horror elements felt right. Also, for the integrity of the work, I added laces around the work and drew some by hand. In my research, I looked at horror characters and Gothic-style churches. By layering different canvases on top of each other, I managed to give the whole composition a lot of depth. In the end, this project taught me how to combine different media into one cohesive artwork.
